City Councilman Eric Ulrich (R-Belle Harbor, Breezy Point, Broad Channel, Hamilton Beach, Howard Beach, Lindenwood, Neponsit, Ozone Park, Rockaway Beach, Rockaway Park, South Ozone Park, Woodhaven) yesterday officially announced his candidacy for the soon-to-be-vacant public advocate seat in a YouTube video.

“Instead of looking out for us and our interests, the Mayor caters to his donors and political cronies.  I’m not beholden to the party bosses and I’m not afraid to take on the Mayor.  As Public Advocate, I will hold de Blasio accountable and fight every day to cut property taxes, create good jobs, and provide a quality education to all children,” he said.
