Addabbo Brings Civil Serice Job Info To District

State Sen. Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr.

State Sen. Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. (D-Howard Beach, Ozone Park, Woodhaven, Glendale, Middle Village, Maspeth and parts of South Ozone Park, Ridgewood, Woodside and The Rockaways) later this month is partnering with the NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) to bring an information session to the district on how to apply for a New York City government job.

If you are looking for a job, the city has over 80 different agencies and employs 300,000 people with opportunities for nearly every occupation. During this information session, members from DCAS will provide job seekers with everything they need to know about applying for New York City government jobs and becoming a civil servant.

“Finding a job — especially one in city government — can be a difficult task. There are so many different agencies and exams to take that it can quickly become overwhelming for a job seeker,” Addabbo said. “That is why I teamed up with DCAS to bring this Info Session to the district. The experts from DCAS will help those in attendance navigate the complexities of finding and applying for government jobs. I hope to see plenty of people take advantage of this great opportunity.”

The New York City Civic Service 101 Info Session is slated from 2-4, Thursday, July 25at the Woodhaven branch of the Queens Public Library, 85-41 Forest Parkway in Woodhaven. For more information about this Information Session, contact Addabbo’s office at 718-738-1111.
